The waters of the Riviera Maya boast an excellent reef with a multitude of colorful tropical fish- perfect for snorkeling!
There are some great snorkeling spots in and around Playa del Carmen. These include the Yal Kal Lagoon and Half Moon Bay in Akumal. Here, you can get lucky and catch sight of the magnificent sea turtle. There are also other excellent snorkeling spots you can visit. Just ask your nearby dive shop for excursions to these areas.
You can also go snorkeling in the underwater caves (cenotes), another enriching and exciting experience.
